SCENIC is one of the Sabah State Government’s strategic initiatives under the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (KPSTI) to drive economic development through creativity, innovation, and technology. Its establishment reflects the State Government’s commitment to providing a platform that supports talent development, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, and the growth of competitive enterprises.

Through the implementation of capacity-building initiatives across its three core pillars, namely Creative, Social Entrepreneurship, and Technology, as well as cross-agency collaboration and engagement with industry partners, SCENIC plays a catalytic role in fostering an inclusive and sustainable ecosystem throughout Sabah.

The Sabah Creative Economy & Innovation Centre (SCENIC) is an initiative of the Sabah State Government that received approval from the Sabah Cabinet in August 2019.

SCENIC operates under the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Sabah (KPSTI), with the aim of accelerating the development of Sabah’s industries through technology, innovation, creativity, and strategic collaboration with stakeholders across the ecosystem.
SCENIC’s capacity-building initiatives are anchored on three core pillars: Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship, Technology, and Creativity.
